► SUEI
SURHUL is currently involved in a project which involves many other Students’ Unions across the country called SUEI (Students’ Union Evaluation Initiative) This section of the website will provide information and updates on this initiative as well as provide a way for you to let us know what you think and get involved in the process.
What is SUEI?
SUEI is…..
“an assessment model that assists in improving the services and activities delivered to members of the Union by indicating areas for continuous improvement”
Why are we using this model?.....
“To make a positive difference to the lives of our members whilst they are at University”
Progress so far
- Two themes have been selected to begin SUEI out of a possible five:
- theme A “what’s so special about the Union” looking at participation, representation and governance
- theme B “what is this union trying to achieve” looking at the SU vision, objectives and yearly plans and member focus.
- A self assessment exercise has been carried out for both themes in relation to SURHUL with the project group and during “development day” attended by Sabbaticals and Senior Management Team
- 1st draft of action plan for themes A+B completed using results of self assessment exercis
- Once both draft action plans completed, they will be published for wider consultation and feedback amongst the membership and staff before implementation.
- Evidence for what we currently do within these two themes has been collated and will continually be added to as actions for themes A+B are completed
What’s next?
- Consultation and implementation of action plans A+B
- 1st visit from one of the SUEI assessors to talk through first two action plans so far, meet the project group, sabbaticals, staff and a senior member of the University
