The week after a GM is always a quiet one for me.  I spent this week updating the constitution on the website and getting minutes for exec and the GM sorted out.  I did an hour in the UCAS open day stand and talked to a few concerned parents and prospective students.  On Thursday I went to the “Meet the Exec” evening at Medicine, but due to the absence of candidates I ended up at the Drama Society launch night in the Stumble Inn.  David had asked all the Exec to provide 5 things they were proud of or had achieved in their time in office, as well as a photo for a SUEI project for Executive Committee Accountability.  James, Rachel and I met with fellow Council Member Emmett Sullivan.

My first blog as Union Chair! I can’t believe reading week has already come and gone. We’ve all had a busy time in the first half of the spring term and I’d thought I’d keep you up to speed as to what I’ve been up to.

First and fore mostly I have been chairing the weekly Executive Meetings as usual, including some long and involved meetings whilst we discuss the details of the constitution review process. I have chaired one General Meeting and have been to my first College Council.

During the Sabbatical elections I did about 7 hours of ballot box duty, as well as being on the count team. Congratulations to all those who were successful! We’ve also had Go Green week.
For the coming weeks I do not only have an increasing amount of academic work to do but alongside David, we shall be starting a new project to consolidate the new and reviewed constitution in an accessible, comprehensive and presentable document.

I am also hoping to attend the Beat Bullying LGBT training.
